TRY Coalition Meeting

TRY Coalition meets every second Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Golden Belt building, 807 E. Main St., on the second floor in Neighborhood Improvement Services. 919-491-7811, DurhamTRY.org.

Lupus support group

A support group for people with lupus, their family members and caregivers will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Wilson Parlor, 305 E. Main St. lupusnc.org.

Survivors of disasters support group

A survivors of fire and other disasters support group meets from 6-7 p.m. the second Thursday of every month in Building Three at the American Red Cross, Central N.C. Chapter, 4737 University Drive. 919-489-6541 ext. 337 or 333.

Farmers’ markets

The South Durham Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to noon in the Greenwood Commons Shopping Center at 5410 N.C. Highway 55.

The Durham Farmers’ Market will be open from 10 a.m. to noon at 501 Foster St. durhamfarmersmarket.com.

Durham Chess Club

The Durham Chess Club meets for casual chess from 2-4:30 p.m. Saturdays at the North Regional Library, 221 Milton Road. Sets, boards and instructions are provided. All ages and skill levels are welcome. 919-479-7020, cconero@aol.com.

Peer Connect Guide Training

Cornucopia Cancer Support Center will host Peer Connect Guide Training from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21. The confidential program connects people affected by cancer with others who have had similar experiences.

Chronic disease self-management class

The Durham Housing Authority ROSS Programs and Durham Public Health offer a free chronic disease self-management class from 2-4 p.m. Thursdays from March 26 through April 30 in the community room at J.J. Henderson Towers, 800 Duke St., Durham. Call Carla McKoy to register at 919-560-7212.
