Thanksgiving closings

Durham city and county offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All Durham County Library locations will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Garbage that is normally collected on Thursday will be picked up on Friday.

Farmers’ markets

The Durham Farmers’ Market is open from 8 a.m. to noon at 501 Foster St. durhamfarmersmarket.com.

The South Durham Farmers’ Market is open from 9 a.m. to noon in the Greenwood Commons Shopping Center at 5410 N.C. Highway 55.

Santa’s Workshop

Story time

The Regulator’s new story time for ages 3-8 with Courtney Saffie will be at 10:30 a.m. every other Saturday, starting on Nov. 28, at 720 Ninth St. The next session will be on Dec. 12.

Durham Chess Club
