Bake sale

Independent Animal Rescue’s Holiday Bake Sale/Bazaar and cat and dog adoption events continue Sunday at Petco, 4011 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. The bake sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will raise money for veterinary care for Mochi, an IAR foster cat who needs surgery. Cat adoptions are 2-4 p.m.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets at 10 a.m. for newcomers and 10:30 a.m. for regular members in room 220 at Structure House, 3017 Pickett Road. 919-929-9891.

Holiday Market

The Durham Farmers’ Market’s Holiday Market for pre-Christmas shopping is 3-5 p.m. at 501 Foster St. durhamfarmersmarket.com.

Northgate Jams

Northgate Mall’s old time, bluegrass and country jam sessions are 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays near the mall’s Center Court, 1058 W. Club Blvd. All musicians are welcome.

Closings

Most town offices will be closed from Thursday through Friday.

Friday’s yard waste and bulky item collections will be on Monday, Dec. 28, instead.

GoDurham will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and will not operate on Friday. GoDurham ACCESS will be available from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and will not operate on Friday. The Bull City Connector will run from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and will not operate on Friday.

Farmers’ markets

The South Durham Farmers’ Market is open from 9 a.m. to noon in the Greenwood Commons Shopping Center at 5410 N.C. Highway 55.

The Durham Farmers’ Market is open from 10 a.m. to noon at 501 Foster St. durhamfarmersmarket.com.
