Andrews interview draws comments
Editor’s note: Tom “Gaspo” Gasparoli’s first of two columns on Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews (DN, bit.ly/1mEkwFc) generated several online comments, including:
Michael Kelley: It is true about Mike: He is a fine man. He has always been a down-to-earth man and has this town in his thoughts every day. We need many more like him. I feel honored to know him and to think of him as a friend.
Bill Green: I’m indeed happy that Mike Andrews is in good shape and thriving in his office as the Durham County sheriff. Playing baseball as a young man with and against Mike showed me over a period years, a smart young man with family values and integrity which obviously carries through to today. I wish Mike all the luck in the world and hope that God will continue to watch over him. I’m blessed to consider Mike Andrews a friend.

Pat Watson: I have only known Mike for a short time but have learn in that short time what an amazing man he is. His wife, Pam, is a sweetie too. They don't put themselves on a pedestal, they are right down there with us. Thank you Mike and all the Durham county deputies for all you do and putting your life on the line every day to keep us safe.
