Auto racing season opens Saturday in Rougemont

Late-model stock car racing returns to the area Saturday with the second annual Sherry Love Johnson Memorial at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont.

Limited Late models, Street Stocks, vintage sportsman, pure stock, Super mini trucks, mod 4s, and Allison Legacy will all be racing. The Johnson Memorial for late moles will be the featured event of a full night of tracing on the three-eighths mile banked oval.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65-up and for students or military members with i.d. Children 10 and under are admitted for $1 each.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Saturday, practice starts at 5:40 and the green flag drops for the first event at 7 p.m.
