Wake deputies: Man tried to kill wife, man by ramming their car

Wake County sheriff's deputies say a man had his three young children in his SUV without car seats when he crashed into their mother’s car Tuesday in an attempt to kill her.

Deputies charged Marcus Dion McNeill of 325 Hunter’s Glen Drive in Sanford with felony hit-and-run, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and child abuse. The couple’s children are 2, 3 and 5 years old.

An arrest warrant accuses McNeill, 38, of smashing a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV into Kevin Williams’ 2013 Hundai Sonata in a bid to kill Williams and Victorian McNeill, the children’s mother.

The children were in the Trailblazer and not in car seats when the crash happened, deputies charged. Deputies said it happened at a mobile-home park on Privette Road, north of Wendell.

McNeill was accused of intentional child abuse inflicting serious injury. The warrant refers to “mental and/or physical injury,” and it was not clear if the children were hurt physically.

Victorian McNeill and Williams were treated at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

In addition to the other charges, McNeill also was charged with misdemeanor damage to Williams’ car. He was held without bail for a court appearance Wednesday.
