The Knightdale Chamber of Commerce will present new Community Awards at their annual banquet Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 at WakeMed’s Andrews Center, 3000 New Bern Ave., Raleigh.
The new “Pillar of Excellence” awards will be given in the categories of business, government, education and non-profit. Nominations are being sought for Town Employee of the Year, Educator of the Year and Non-Profit of the Year.
In addition, the past Citizen of the Year award has been renamed to the Bronze Knight Award – Citizen of the Year. Each category has a set of criteria that will be reviewed by a chamber awards committee. Applications from the community for awards will be accepted until Jan. 16.
The chamber will also recognize a Large Business of the Year and a Small Business of the Year as part of its “Edge of Excellence – Business Awards” program. Nomination forms are available at knightdalechamber.org.

The awards banquet will begin with a preview of the silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, followed by the social at 6 p.m., and dinner at 7:15 p.m.
