A Louisburg man is being held in the Wake County Detention Center on charges that he engaged in sexual contact with an intellectually disabled 12-year-old girl in Zebulon and gave the child money to keep quiet, according to police.
Ryan Rashad Reynolds, 24, of 135 Wilders Lane, Louisburg, was charged July 31 with one count of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of first-degree sexual offense with a child. He is being held under $1.6 million bond. His next court date is set for Aug. 24.
Zebulon Lt. Scott Finch said Reynolds regularly performed residential maintenance work in the area where the victim lives and that he was known to the victim’s family. Reynolds was allowed access to the family’s home the morning of July 31, at which time he is believed to have committed the acts he is charged with, according to police.
The child’s mother reported the incident and police obtained warrants for Reynolds’ arrest following a brief investigation.
