The Wendell Historical Society will sponsor a Historic Christmas Tour from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. The society has five homes and one historic church on the tour this year.
This year’s tour will include the Curtis Todd House on Hollybrook Road, the Clay-Harris house on Mattox Street, the Andrews House on North Main Street, The Baptist-May-King house on South Main Street, the Ward-Cash-Johnson house of North Buffalo Street, Historic Hephzibah Baptist Church on Wendell Boulevard, and the Historic Wendell Post Office on Oakwood Street.
The Wendell Baptist Hand Bell Choir will be at Historic Hephzibah Church from 2 to 5 p.m. to entertain the visitors there. Their performance will be dedicated to the memory of Jackie Lee Ammons and Jack & Alene Hatley.
The proceeds from the tour will be used to replace the roof on the historic post office.
Tickets may be bought in advance for $10 at Baynes & Company at 3970 Wendell Boulevard and Hedrick Insurance Agency at 128 N. Main Street. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the tour for $12 at the Historic Wendell Post Office on the corner of Oakwood and Fourth streets.
