Did you know that Tuscarora Indians once made their home in eastern Wake County?
Did you know that Knightdale is located on a portion of property that was a land grant from the British throne to John Hinton?
Did you know that Knightdale was named for Henry Haywood Knight, who pursued a railroad station for the area?
Billy Wilder and Wanda Ramm will share these and other interesting facts at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the Wendell Town Hall at the corner of Pine and Fourth streets, at a meeting of the Wendell Historical Society.
Wilder and Ramm are the authors of the newly published photo history book titled Knightdale, which is part of the Images of America series. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Cost is $23.50 including tax.
Wilder is a lifelong resident and former mayor of Knightdale, and Ramm is a great-niece of Henry Haywood Knight.
