Zebulon students show off visual art skills

Celebration of Arts, held last month at the Zebulon Community Center, showcased more than 170 pieces of original artwork by students selected from East Wake Academy (K-4, middle and senior academies), Wakelon Elementary School, Zebulon Elementary School and Zebulon Middle School.

Winners in the high school division, all from East Wake Academy, were (first place) Nejla Harris, (second) Micha Streit, (third) Katelyn Powers, (honorable mention) Julie Thomas, Hillary McCullough and Garrett Bradshaw.

Middle school winners were (first) Lexie Brantley of East Wake Academy, (second) Isabella Leahy of Zebulon Middle, (third) Ethan Baker of Zebulon Middle, (honorable mention) Ashley Hare of East Wake Academy, and Addyson Smith and Adriana Cauble-Terry of Zebulon Middle.

The elementary school division for grades 3-5 winners were (first) Miguel Nunez of Wakelon Elementary, (second) Samuel Baker of Zebulon Elementary, (third) Dayanara Salas of Wakelon Elementary, (honorable mention) Ethan Hall of Zebulon Elementary, and Miranda McCullough and Logan Lowery of East Wake Academy.

Elementary school winners in the K-2 division were (first) Morgan Reason, (second) Symone Barnes and (third) Camden Jenkins all of Wakelon Elementary, (honorable mention) Kade Highfield of East Wake Academy, and Manuel Aguirre-Alvarez and Carolyn Mitchell of Zebulon Elementary.
