Golf tournament

The East Wake High School Friends of Baseball will hold a golf tournament at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Zebulon Country Club, 2424 Pearces Road, Zebulon. The cost is $300 per team of four and includes golf, brunch and dinner. Call Allen Boyette at 919-740-3562.

Golf and social

Wendell Country Club will host its “Member for a Day” golf social from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at 180 Jake May Drive, Wendell. The day will include a nine-hole captain’s choice tournament with various on-course competitions, followed by a social event in the clubhouse for players and their spouses. Entry is $20 per player. Registrations open

Knightdale Parks and Recreation is holding 9- to 17-year-old youth basketball registration for the winter 2014 season. The fee is $37 for Knightdale residents, and $52 for non-residents. Contact Jay Chalk at 919-217-2231 for more information.

Baseball tryouts

Baseball tryouts will be held for boys ages 7-8 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and 16, at the Carver Elementary baseball fields, 291 Liles Dean Road, Wendell. To register, email mdriver2@nc.rr.com with the child’s name, age, date of birth, parent’s name and email address, and contact information.

Pig cooker raffle

The East Wake Booster Club will raffle a pull-behind pig cooker valued at $1,600 Nov. 7 at the final home game against Knightdale. Money raised will help buy shoulder pads for the East Wake football team. Raffle tickets cost $5. To buy a ticket, see any football coach or call 919-795-2190.
