Spring registrations, tryouts open

▪  Spring recreational soccer registration is now open with the East Wake Soccer Association. East Wake Soccer offers recreational soccer for children ages 4-16. For more information about the league and how to register visit EastWakeSoccer.org.

▪  TriCounty Futbol Club is accepting registration for the spring season. The soccer club is available at TCFCNC.com or through Darin or Stephanie Dixon at 919-760-5126.

▪  Knightdale Hustle, an eastern Wake County travel basketball program, will hold tryouts for grades 2-3 (9U) on Tuesday, March 10, from 6-7:15 p.m. at Knightdale Baptist Church, 15 Main St., Knightdale. Bring $10 and a 28.5-inch basketball. Practices will be held every Tuesday from March 10 through June from 6-7:15 pm and the team will play in four to five local tournaments over the season. BMX show coming to Wendell

The ProTown BMX professional stunt team is scheduled to perform in Wendell starting at noon on March 21 with a rain date scheduled for March 27. Many ProTown BMX Team athletes are regular participants in the X Games and AST Dew Tour, the highest level of action sports competition worldwide. The riders will demonstrate flips, whips, spins and more with their performance. They will also offer free clinic sessions after each show, and will be available after each performance to sign autographs and interact with attendees. USGA rules of golf seminars

The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) will hold its annual USGA Rules of Golf seminars in March. Area seminars will be held on March 11 at Hope Valley Country Club in Durham and on March 18 at Carolina Country Club in Raleigh. The seminars are free of charge to attendees, who will view a narrated computer presentation on the basics of the Rules of Golf followed by question and answer sessions. Seminars typically last between two hours. A free 2012-15 USGA Rules of Golf book will be distributed to all participants, and information on the Carolinas Golf Association will be available. 5K race training

Flowers Plantation’s Spring Couch to 5K will help participants train for a 5K race in a fun and supportive group. Piedmont Bass Classics tournaments
