For the sixth straight year, every student in Johnston Community College’s radiography graduating class passed the national certification exams, according to JCC spokeswoman Traci D. Ashley.

Ashley said this is the 10th consecutive year JCC students in the radiography program have maintained at least a 99-percent passing rate.

This year 24 students passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam in May with a score of at least 75 or higher.

“These students worked very hard to achieve the 100-percent pass rate on the certification exam, as well as the other recognitions received by students in this class,” said Ann Jackson, director of imaging programs at JCC.

In addition to the perfect certification exam results, the radiography students won the Winslow Cup at the North Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists annual convention in April.

Lucretia O’Dell, of Clayton, won the award by receiving the highest score on the mock radiography registry examination. Students in various radiography programs across the state take the exam.

Also, Austin Scott was named the college’s Academic Excellence Award recipient for his outstanding academic scholarship and leadership.
