RALEIGH

Military service members getting ready to leave active duty, and those already out, have a new online tool to help them find civilian jobs.

Gov. Pat McCrory announced this week the creation of ncmilitarypipeline.com, a branch of usmilitarypipeline.com, where veterans can identify career fields related to their military experience and find openings in those fields; create a resume; and sign up for daily updates of relevant new job postings. Enrollment on the site is free.

Ilario Pantano, director of the N.C. Division of Veterans Affairs, said the site is sponsored by private companies and does not use state funds. This year, he said, state officials will make a push to help veterans find jobs by talking with business owners and human resources managers about the benefits of hiring vets.
