Police Thursday arrested a man wanted by Cary police, who charged that he sent a dozen child-pornography videos to an undercover Cary detective.
Officers arrested Eric Martin Pepke, 53, whose address was listed in arrest warrants as an apartment at 1832 Plantation Pines Circle in Garner.
A magistrate set his bail at $2 million, however, saying Pepke appeared to have his permanent residence is in Florida.
Cary police charged Pepke with 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, citing video files they said he had sent via the Internet to Detective Kevin West.
West specializes in fighting child pornography and other Internet crime.
The arrest warrants said the videos involved children, mostly girls, who appeared to be 6 to 10 years old.
West charged that the exchanges had gone on between March 18 and April 14.
Cary police said that they believed Pepke had moved to Garner in recent months but had not obtained a North Carolina driver’s license and still had one from Florida.
