Garner Fire Rescue continued their Christmas tradition of supporting the Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospitals by distributing presents to patients. Dressed as Santa, Captain Don Johnson, along with volunteers and family members, made sure that every patient and their families were not forgotten while hospitalized during Christmas. “We have been supporting the Burn Center for at least 25 years” Johnson said. “It is just part of Christmas.”
Along with the presents, Garner Fire Rescue also gave the Burn Center a check for over $10,000 for their After Care Program. The After Care Program assists burn victims who need continued care after they have been discharged from the center. The total gift to the Center was $15,000.
