Creation, evolution and the Bible discussion

Rusty Fulp of Creation Ministries International will discuss the myth of evolution Sunday, Sept. 8, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3414 N. Shiloh Road, Garner. Discussions will be held at 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Titles of the series are: “Dinosaurs and the Bible,” “Creation: Why it Matters – A Flood Evidence,” and “Creation/Evolution: A Changing of the Tide.” For more information, call 919-553-3319.

C3 Church holds back-to-school bash

C3 Church will host a “Back 2 School” bash 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at 8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton. There will be food, games, prizes and free haircuts for school children. For information, visit or call 919-934-3551.

Bible study

Men’s Bible study of Johnston County begins a verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of St. Mathew 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at First Baptist Church, 202 S. Fourth St., Smithfield. This study group runs through May. Visit

Food drive

Garner Area Ministries’ food pantry is historically low on food during the summer months, when many families need extra help. The agency is collecting food during its “Christmas in July” campaign from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 558 Village Court, Garner. For more information, call 919-772-9100.
