Faith Notes: Sept. 11

Piano concert

World famous pianist, guitarist and songwriter John Nilsen will be returning to Mount Zion United Methodist Church for a piano concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. The free concert will take place in the sanctuary of the church, located at 15772 N.C. 50 N., Garner. A reception will take place following the event.

Support groups

Shiloh Baptist Church will host GriefShare and DivorceCare support groups from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 3414 N. Shiloh Road, Garner. Vendors needed

Mount Zion United Methodist Church invites all vendors to its annual Christmas bazaar to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 in the fellowship hall and chapel. Vendors will be able to display and sell artwork, jewelry, crafts and holiday gifts. There will be a snack bar with breakfast and lunch items, drinks, snacks and desserts. Barbecue fundraiser

Mount Zion United Methodist Church will host a barbecue chicken fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Eat-in or takeout plates are available. Plates are $8 for adults, $4 for children 4-12, and free for children 3 and under. For more information, call 919-772-8415.

Indoor yard sale

An indoor yard sale will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 28 by Lord of Life Lutheran Church at 2100 Buffaloe Road, Garner. Proceeds will go to Outreach Ministries. For more information, call 919-772-9044.

A capella concert

Barbecue fundraiser

Community of Hope Ministries will host a barbecue fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 in the Christian Life Center at First Baptist Church in Garner. The plates include pork barbecue, slaw, boiled potatoes and hushpuppies, catered by Clyde Cooper’s Barbecue. Dessert and tea will also be provided. Family Fun Fest
