Gingerbread Festival

The Garner Great Gift Extravaganza will offer the opportunity to take pictures with Santa from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Garner Magnet High, 2010 Spring Drive, Garner.

Home for the Holidays

PTSA holiday fair

The Garner Magnet High School PTSA will have a holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the high school, 2101 Spring Drive, Garner. Over 100 local crafters and vendors will be present at the fair. Pictures can be made with Santa Claus, and breakfast and lunch will be served by the Garner Marching Band and Mighty Trojan Club.

Pancake breakfast

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life 50-210 Fire Department Team will host a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Andy’s Highway 55 Burgers & Shakes, 152 Bratton Drive, Garner. Members of the team will be selling tickets for $5 per plate, or tickets can be purchased at the door. Wonder: The Stories and Songs of Christmas

Local pop-pianist Dawn Michelle Williams and local radio personality Bill Jordan will perform “Wonder: The Songs and Stories of Christmas” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Garner Performing Arts Center, 742 W. Garner Road, Garner. The show pairs Williams’ dynamic music with excerpts from local author Marianne Jordan’s new book, “The First Christmas Carol,” narrated by Bill Jordan. Supported by a full band and children’s choir, the performance will include well-known Christmas carols, along with lesser-known tunes.
