Annual Prayer Breakfast
Garner Mayor Ronnie Williams will host his 9th Annual Prayer Breakfast at 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at First Baptist Church Christian Life Center at 601 St. Mary’s St., Garner. The program will begin at 7:30 a.m. The speaker is the Rev. Dr David Forbes. Musical selections will be performed by Denise Nowell, the Wake Tech Inspirational Choir, Savannah Richmond and her father, and Kevin and Doug Pedigo. The event is free. Seating is limited. Soccer league tryouts
Mount Zion United Methodist Church is registering boys and girls in grades K- 6 this month for spring soccer leagues, part of Upward Sports, the world’s largest Christian sports league for children. Feed My Sheep Food Pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan.11 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. An identification card is required upon receipt of food.
