Baldwin retires from Coast Guard

On Dec. 14 more than 120 Sector N.C. shipmates, families and friends gathered for the retirement of CWO4 (Chief Warrant Officer Grade 4) Oakley Dean Baldwin His official retirement date was January 1. At the time of his retirement Baldwin was serving as an Intel Officer with Sector N.C. Capt Sean Murtagh, presided at the retirement ceremony and presented Baldwin with the Coast Guard Commendation Medal for outstanding service.

Baldwin joined the Coast Guard in 1983, the same year his daughter Amanda was born. He is proud of his 30 years of service with six active duty call ups, but he is most proud of his family: his wife Doris, his son Roy Dean, his daughter Amanda, and grandchildren Matt and Sami. Baldwin and family live near the Wake/Johnston County line.
