The popular Christmas in Clayton Art and Homes Tour, slated Sunday, Dec. 4, will feature 17 local artists and seven Christmas-decorated homes in Portofino equine community (off N.C. 42 east).
These are eyecatching homes, and each will be decked in holiday finery.
All 17 artists are award-winners and work in a variety of media—from paintings (acrylic, oil, watercolor, etc.) and photography to woodworking, jewelry, soaps, and other. All works are for sale.
Tickets are $10. Advance purchase is urged, though tickets may be bought the day of the event at tour headquarters, the Portofino clubhouse, 25 Paraggi Court.
Tour hours are 3-7 p.m. This is a rain-or-shine event, presented by Clayton Visual Arts, Inc.
The homes are:

▪ Harris residence, 210 Paraggi Court
▪ Mendola residence, 232 Paraggi Court
▪ Thompson residence, 203 Portofino Drive
▪ Atchison residence, 87 Rapallo Court
▪ Bosick residence, 215 Sicily Drive
▪ Snead residence, 265 Ventasso Drive
Artists will be in three locations at Portofino: the clubhouse, several homes and the state-of-the-art horse barn.
At the clubhouse are: Lori Ann Martin, Kathleen Nobles, Medrith Nuttle, Janie Prete, Heidi Peach, Bill Rice, Sharlene Thomas and Jo Lee Tucker. The clubhouse will also display floral decorations provided by Flowers by the Neuse of Clayton.
In the homes will be Deborah Coates in the Upperman home; Jim Hopkins and Catherine Donleycott will be in the Bosick home; Cathy Spivey Mendola will be in the Mendola homeand; Kyle Wilson will be in the Harris home.
In the barn will be Maleah Christie, Krissy Crittenden, Bronwen Fullington and Evelyn Wool.

On the day of the event tickets may only be purchased at the tour headquarters, which will be at the Portofino clubhouse.
Programs and maps of the Christmas tour will be available the day of the event at tour headquarters. Attendees should park at the clubhouse, where three vans will ferry them to the homes and artists.
Proceeds from the event are dedicated to Clayton Visual Arts’ annual Dorothy Demboski Art Teachers’ Assistance Grants, which allow teachers to buy art supplies for the classroom. Recipients will be announced in January 2017.
