Supper at Mount Zion

Mt. Zion United Methodist Church will hold its annual old-fashioned supper from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the church, 15772 N.C. 50 North in Garner. Dinner includes fried chicken, barbecue, ham, chicken and pastry, hot dogs, collards, potatoes, green beans, hushpuppies, biscuits and desserts. Takeout will be available. Food Pantry

A food pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 14, at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. The food is free to anyone presenting an ID card. For more information, call 919-553-9770.

First Presbyterian Church fundraiser

First Presbyterian Church of Garner will hold a Chinese auction and homemade doughnuts fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at 503 Lakeside Dr., Garner. Cost is $1 for 5 tickets for the auction. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Pine Straw Sale

Lord of Life Lutheran Church will be selling pine straw 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 14 and Saturday, March 21 at 2100 Buffaloe Rd., Garner. Cost is $5 per bail. Free local delivery is available for 15, or more, bails. Proceeds from the sale will fund camp scholarships at Camp Agape. For more information, call 919-779-7691.

Garner United Methodist Church fundraiser

Garner United Methodist Church will hold a barbecue chicken fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, at the church, 201 Methodist Dr., Garner. Plates are $8 and include half a barbecue chicken, green beans, potatoes, bread and a dessert. The fundraiser will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Support groups

▪  Shiloh Baptist Church hosts GriefShare, DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids support groups at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at 3414 N. Shiloh Road, Garner. Bible studies

▪  Sisters Sharing the Savior will study Isaiah using the Life Change Series as a guide from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. through mid-March at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. Call 919-989-8974 for more information.

▪  Men’s Bible study of Johnston County continues a verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of St. Matthew 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays at First Baptist Church, 202 S. Fourth St., Smithfield. This study group runs through May. Visit www.mbsjohnstoncounty.com.
