Homecoming activities fill the calendar for Garner High School students and alumni this week.
On Monday, students will observe ’Merica Monday and the school’s soccer team will be recognized. Tuesday is Wacky Tacky Day and the volleyball and golf teams will be recognized. Wednesday is class color day in which students will wear their class-assigned colors. The tennis team will be recognized that day. On Thursday, students will observe Throwback day. Each class will dress to represent a different decade. Seniors will represent the 50s, while freshmen have to figure out how to represent the 1920s. The cross country team will also be recognized Thursday. Friday will be Blue and Gold Day. Students will be encouraged to wear the school colors.
Outside the regular school day, there will be plenty of activities, too. The annual powderpuff game will take place Wednesday night at 6 on the football field. On Thursday, from 2:30-8:30, student will work on class floats which will be on full display at the Homecoming parade which begins at 4 p.m. The parade will run from Garner Advent Church to the high school. Senior athletes will be recognized during pre-game activities and at halftime, the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned. The football game begins at 7 p.m. as the Trojans host Harnett Central.
