Bethea graduates from basic infantry training

U.S. Army National Guard Pvt. Louis S. Bethea has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Bethea is a graduate of Garner Magnet High School and is the son of Gregory and Candace Bethea of Raleigh.

During the nine weeks of training, Bethea studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Devane graduates from basic infantry training

U.S. Army National Guard Pvt. Gary E. Devane Jr. has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Devane is a graduate of Garner Magnet High School and is the son of Gary Devane of Clayton, and Clarene Devane of Richmond, Va.

During the nine weeks of training, Devane studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
