Movie night

St. Andrews United Methodist Church’s movie night with “Wesley: A Heart Transformed Can Change the World” is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at 1201 Maxwell Drive, Raleigh.

Barbecue dinner

The Old Fashioned BBQ Chicken Dinnner at Aversboro Road Baptist Church is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 20, at 1600 Aversboro Road, Garner. Proceeds will benefit the church’s student ministry projects.

Chicken, green beans, potatoes, a roll and dessert cost $8, eat-in or take-out. Lunchtime delivery is available for prepaid orders of 10 or more; call 919-779-0434.

Low country boil

The Traditional Low Country Boil at St. Andrews United Methodist Church is 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at 1201 Maxwell Drive, Raleigh.

Tickets for steamed shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn and hushpuppies cost $25 per person, for sale until Saturday, May 7. Carry-out is available. For details or tickets, call 919-772-4410.

Food pantry

Feed My Sheep food pantry is open from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. The food is free to anyone presenting an ID card. For more information, call 919-553-9770.

Support groups

▪  Mount Zion United Methodist Church’s Healing Hope Cancer Support Group meets from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month in the Share & Care classroom at the church, 15772 N.C. 50, Garner. Email or call 919-550-9092.

▪  Shiloh Baptist Church hosts GriefShare, DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids support groups at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at 3414 N. Shiloh Road, Garner. There is no cost. Participants may enter at any session. Child care is available upon request. For more information, visit or call 919-553-3319.
