Neuse Charter downs Princeton

Neuse Charter defeated Princeton 42-30 in a dual wrestling match on Wednesday. James Cuccarello, Bryce Lyons, Tristian Wellons and Luke Sullivan won matches for NCS.

Meyers notches 200th win

Southeast Raleigh’s girls basketball team downed Harnett Central 60-7 on Tuesday. The win was the 200th at the school for Bulldogs’ head coach Nicole Meyers.

Southeast Raleigh won the boys game as well, 56-33.

Cox leads Princeton girls by Kenan

Princeton’s girls downed James Kenan 50-45 Tuesday night in its Carolina 1A Conference opener. Charley Cox had 30 points for Princeton in the win and three steals.

Kenan won the boys game, 50-44.

Pirates hold Farmville Central scoreless in overtime

Corinth Holders outscored Farmville Central’s girls basketball team 11-0 in overtime in a 55-44 victory Tuesday night. Tajah Clark led the Pirates with 26 points and Holly Price had 13.

Farmville Central rolled to a 76-34 win in the boys game.

Smithfield-Selma girls down Fike

Mariah Godwin had nine fourth-quarter points as Smithfield-Selma’s girls basketball team downed Wilson Fike on Tuesday. Dannya Tavarez led the Spartans with 15 points in the victory.

Freshman leads Neuse Charter girls

Neuse Charter won its Carolina 1A Conference girls basketball conference opener Tuesday with a 38-18 win over North Duplin. Freshman McKenna Kersat led the Cougars with 12 points in the victory. Dominique Dakin and Lacey Jones contributed eight points each.

North Duplin’s boys downed Neuse Charter, 65-56.

Stephenson posts top 10 finish

Four Oaks golfer and South Johnston High student Patrick Stephenson tied for 10th in the Charles Tilghman Junior Championship at the Surf Golf and Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Dec. 14. Stephenson finished at 146 for the 36-hole event which featured golfers from across North and South Carolina.
