Dixon, Gibson lead another Corinth Holders sweep in Two Rivers track
School record-earning performances by Sadavion Dixon in the boys triple jump and Samara Gibson in the girls 300 meters helped Corinth Holders win the Two Rivers 3A Conference winter track and field meet last week.
Dixon jumped 43 feet, two inches in the triple jump as the Pirates claimed the boys tema win with 136 points. Triton was second with 87; Cleveland and Western Harnet tied for third (80).
Dixon also won the long jump for the Pirates. The 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams from Corinth Holders prevailed. And Austin Carroll (1,000) and Grant Sullivan (pole vault) earned individual wins for the Pirates.
Gabe Dershem (3,200), Austin Blumenberg (500) and Reagan Wells (shot put) posted victories for Cleveland. Smithfield-Selma’s Sherwood Norman won the 55-meter dash.
Gibson clocked in at 42.8 seconds in the 300 for her record time. She also took the 55-meter dash win as well.
Other individual winners for the Pirate girls team were Cameron Rutherford (3,200), Kayla Alznauer (1,600), Kayla Ste. Marie (1,000) and Hannah Canterbury (500).
Cleveland’s girls were third and South Johnston took fifth.
The Rams’ 1,600 relay team won, as did Cleveland entries Cassidy McNierney in the long jump and Syndi Fields in the hurdles.
South Johnston picked up wins courtesy of Alex Woodall in the shot and Savannah Creed in the pole vault.
