Notable: Tyler has been an outfielder and catcher for West Johnston the past two seasons. He projects to play the outfield in college. … He hit .359 as a junior with three home runs, nine doubles, two triples and 24 RBIs. … His most memorable moment so far at West is hitting a walk-off home run against Clayton in 2012 not long after he was sick in the dugout. “I’m proud to have played so long with so many guys who are here,” he said of playing at West. “So many of them, we’ve been together since we were 8 years old.” … He wants to improve his speed and arm strength.

West Johnston coach Joey Worley: “He’s going to be an asset for any team with a left handed bat that I think will produce from Day One. He’s done a little bit of everything here and done everything well. Tyler’s a well-rounded athlete and has a great work ethic. I think UNC Pembroke is getting a great baseball player.”
