Why ABU? “I really liked the campus and the growing football program. I liked my fit at a Division II school where I could get a better fit with scholarship money.”
Notable: Dylan will play middle linebacker for the Battlers, the same position he manned during his four-year varsity run at West Johnston. He also played fullback and offensive guard for the Wildcats, helping West reach the playoffs last season and tie the school record for wins in a season with eight. “My favorite memory from playing at West Johnston was making the playoffs last year,” Dylan said. “And the time we put in during summer workouts working with Coach Williams and the rest of the guys. I made great friends I’ll have all of my life.” … He was a two-time Greater Neuse River 4A all-Conference selection. … Dylan knows it will be important to be in the best shape of his life by the time fall camp comes around at the third-year program at ABU, which is located in Philippi, West Virginia.
West Johnston coach Jimmy Williams: “Dylan is a guy who’s always been mature for his age. He bought into our system and our way of doing things. He’s a great kid, so physical and durable, he played through minor injuries, which is a quality that’s really becoming tougher to find in kids.”
