‘BrainMinders’ puppet show

A puppet show called “BrainMinders,” which teaches preschoolers about taking care of the brain, is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cameron Village Regional Library, 1930 Clark Ave., Raleigh. Children will hear a story, sing songs, color a craft, and learn about how to be safe while at play. Participants will receive a certificate of participation to become a Brain Minder Buddy.


Blood drive at North Regional Library

Pilkey signing “Tippy Tinkletrousers”

Dav Pilkey will sign copies of “Captain Underpants and the Terrifying Return of Tippy Tinkletrousers” at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Quail Ridge Books and Music, 3522 Wade Ave., Raleigh. Purchasers receive a signing line ticket when buying the book.

Henderson at Quail Ridge

Carol Henderson will discuss “Farther Along: The Writing Journey of 13 Bereaved Mothers” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Quail Ridge Books and Music.

Mike Lupica will sign copies of “True Legend” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Quail Ridge Books & Music, 3522 Wade Ave., Raleigh. Anyone who purchases a copy of any of Lupica’s books will receive a ticket for the signing.

Time for Tots: All about Corn

Time for Tots: All about Corn is scheduled from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdayat the N.C. Museum of History, 5 E. Edenton St., Raleigh. Another session is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 11.
