Get to know him: Stan is a handsome, good-sized (about 55 lbs) 6-year-old available from Carolina Basset Hound Rescue. In his foster home, he has gained the nickname “Stan the Hoover” because he sweeps up everything in record time. In fact, he often tips over his food bowl and eats off the floor, but he never leaves a mess because he loves to eat. Stan has tons of energy and loves to go for walks. He is super sweet and has a very outgoing personality, especially with the ladies. He will follow you everywhere you go, looking for a belly rub. Stan is heartworm-negative, neutered and up-to-date on all of his vaccines.
For more information: CBHR is a volunteer-staffed, nonprofit organization that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted basset hounds in North Carolina and South Carolina. To see more than 50 bassets available through the group or to fill out an adoption application, go to www.cbhr.com. Adoption fees range from $100 to $250 to help offset costs. Because of the high numbers of dogs in need of rescue from kill shelters, CBHR is unable to accept owner turned in dogs at this time. To contact the group, call 919-708-4247 or email email@example.com.
