Summer may have just ended, but families in northeast Raleigh have a new way to enjoy the water year-round.
The Buffaloe Road Aquatics Center opened this month, offering splashy attractions from a three-story water slide, lazy river and water vortex to a zero-depth-entry pool with tot-size water tumblers and a water curtain.
The $8 million pool complex is the first built in Raleigh since 1992, when the city replaced an aging pool at Pullen Park.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. For details, call parks and recreation at 919-831-6852.
Admission fees range from $3 to $7 depending on age, with long-term passes available. Fees are higher for those who don’t live in Raleigh.
