Get to know her: Lacey’s a sweet, gentle 8-year-old girl who was found wandering on a South Carolina beach. She’s a resilient, loving dog and would do well with a family that has another calm dog. She adores attention, loves to play and go for strolls and really likes her treats. Lacey likes everyone: dogs, cats and children. She is spayed, micro-chipped and current on all her vaccines. She does require medicine to keep joint pain and skin allergies in check.
For more information: German Shepherd Rescue and Adoption is a nonprofit organization of volunteers committed to offering care and adoption services to neglected, stray or surrendered German Shepherds. The group is based in Raleigh and works in the Carolinas and Virginia. While in the care of GSRA, shepherds are spayed or neutered in addition to having other medical needs addressed. They are placed in foster homes to be nurtured, loved and housetrained. Foster parents learn each dog’s temperament and work on obedience and behavior training, allowing the dog to be placed in an environment best for both the dog and the adopter. Adoption fees are $250.
