New Year’s Eve with N.C. Museum of History

Celebrate the start of 2015 with the Museum of History and Artsplosure. Buy one exhibit admission and get one free with a First Night button until 6 p.m., when the exhibits close. A children’s celebration will be from 2 to 6 p.m., with events in Daniels Auditorium from 7 to 11 p.m.

First Night Raleigh

First Night Raleigh will be from 2 p.m. Wednesday to 12:10 a.m. Thursday in downtown Raleigh. A children’s celebration will be from 2 to 6 p.m. The People’s Procession will be at 6 p.m., early countdown and fireworks at 7 p.m., evening performances from 7 to 11:30 p.m., and main stage performances from 4 p.m. to midnight. Cat show

The three-day TICA Cat Show will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Holshouser Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and students with ID, and $3 for children ages 2 to 12. Dog agility competition

Morning Times Market

The Morning Times Market will be from 6 p.m. to midnight at The Morning Times, 10 E. Hargett St., Raleigh. The event is an outdoor art market featuring local artisans, live music and entertainment, and local breweries on the first Friday of each month. All ages are welcome to enjoy the free event.
