Tennis coaches needed for fall
Tennis coaches are needed for USTA Jr. Team Tennis for the fall season. Players at the 3.5 level will be trained as coaches. Teams are made up of youth ages 8 and under or 10 and under. Practices are held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Fridays and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays.
The position pays $12 per hour and $8.25 per hour for training and administrative duties.

Junior golf tournament
The 24th annual Jack Ratz Jr. Memorial Junior Golf Tournament is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Wildwood Green Golf Club, 3000 Bally Bunion Way, Raleigh. The event is open to junior golfers, ages 6-18, and costs $50 per person. The Ratz family will donate $1,000 to the Cardinal Gibbons High School memorial scholarship in the winners’ names. Cheerleading clinic at Southeast Raleigh
Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School will hold a fall cheerleading clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the school, 2600 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh.
The clinic, for ages 5-13, will feature cheers, chants, dances, stunts and tumbling. A performance for parents will be held at 2:30 p.m.
The registration fee is $25 before Friday, Aug. 9 and $35 the day of the clinic. Bring a bag lunch, or purchase lunch for $5.

Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic
The Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic will be held Aug. 23-25 at the North Ridge Country Club, 6612 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh. Participating celebrities include NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and actor Anthony Anderson. Individual player sponsorships cost $4,500 and a four-player sponsorship costs $16,000. Bike ride and fundraiser
The fourth annual Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation’s Five-O 50K and 100K Memorial Rides will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Trek Raleigh, 10911 Raven Ridge Road. The 100K bicycle ride will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 50K ride at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $35 in advance and $40 the day of the ride. Basketball league registration
Registration for the Wake Forest Parks and Recreation Department’s men’s basketball leagues and Dream League Basketball will continue through Friday, Aug. 30. The leagues are:
4-on-4 Men’s leagues: Two leagues are available for men ages 35 and younger, and men ages 35 and older. The entry fee is $200 per team and leagues will play on weeknights September through October.
Dream League: Dream League basketball is an adaptive basketball league designed for school-age children with special needs. League play is scheduled for Saturday mornings September through November.

Pickleball open play
