Basketball league registration
Registration for the Wake Forest Parks and Recreation department’s men’s basketball leagues and Dream League Basketball will continue through Friday, Aug. 30. The leagues are:
4-on-4 Men’s leagues – Two leagues are available for men ages 35 and younger, and men ages 35 and older. The entry fee is $200 per team and leagues will play on weeknights Sept.-Oct.
Dream League – Dream League basketball is an adaptive basketball league designed for school-age children with special needs. League play is scheduled for Saturday mornings Sept.-Nov.
The fee is $40 for residents and $80 for nonresidents. Registration forms are available at www.wakeforestnc.gov/parksrecreation.aspx or at Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St., Wake Forest.

Tennis coaches are needed for USTA Jr. Team Tennis for the fall season. Players at the 3.5 level will be trained as coaches. Teams are made up of youth ages 8 and under or 10 and under. Practices are held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Fridays and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays.
The position pays $12 per hour and $8.25 per hour for training and administrative duties.

Raleigh Parks & Recreation began holding registration for the Adult Baseball League on Monday, Aug. 5 and will continue until the league is full. The team fee is $450. Registration will be at 2401 Wade Ave., Raleigh from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information, call 919-831-6836.
Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic
The Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic will be held Aug. 23-25 at the North Ridge Country Club, 6612 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh. Participating celebrities include NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and actor Anthony Anderson. Individual player sponsorships cost $4,500 and a four-player sponsorship costs $16,000. Bike ride and fundraiser
The fourth annual Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation’s Five-O 50K and 100K Memorial Rides will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Trek Raleigh, 10911 Raven Ridge Road. The 100K bicycle ride will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 50K ride at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $35 in advance and $40 the day of the ride. 3K walk-a-thon in Raleigh
The Beauty Campaign will hold a 3K walkathon from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Anderson Point Park, 20 Anderson Point Drive, Raleigh. The cost is $35 and includes a T-shirt. The Beauty Campaign is a nonprofit serving the needs of women and men who have suffered from abuse and addiction. Big Muddy Challenge

CZC Charity Golf Classic
The Annual Comfort Zone Camp for Kids Charity Golf Classic will be held Monday, Sept. 9, at the Brier Creek Country Club, 9400 Club Hills Drive, Raleigh. Pickleball open play
Play pickleball from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 N. White St., Raleigh. Pickleball is played on a badminton court with a lowered net, a perforated plastic baseball and wood paddles. It is easy to learn but can develop into a competitive game for experienced players.
