Call for artists

Roundabout Art Collective is accepting applications for guest shows for February through June. The deadline is Thursday, Oct. 31, and the collective will consider both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. For more information or to register, visit www.RoundaboutArtCollective.com.

Tune Swingers Orchestra

World of Art Showcase

The World of Art Showcase, featuring live music, live performances and artist demonstrations, will be Nov. 1-3 at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh. Tickets are $15 a day or $30 for a weekend pass. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.worldofartshowcase.com.

Wake Tech Idol

Wake Technical Community College will name its first Wake Tech Idol at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the Building E Performance Hall. More than 80 students auditioned, and the top 12 finalists will compete for prizes. Admission is $5 for students and Wake Tech employees, and $10 for the public. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Bluegrass jam

The PineCone Bluegrass Jam will be 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Busy Bee Cafe, 225 Wilmington St., Raleigh. Bluegrass musicians of all levels can listen, observe and play during the jam. For more information, visit www.pinecone.org.

Car meetups

During the Porsche By Design exhibit, the N.C. Museum of Art will present juried car shows from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays along 2110 Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh. The remaining dates are Nov. 9: American cars and hot rods; Nov. 30: art cars meetup. Owners of European cars, American cars, hot rods and art cars wishing to exhibit their cars must submit an application at www.ncartmuseum.org.
