Quilt show

Vintage View Quilt Show will be held March 14-16 at the Kerr Scott Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The show will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Over 500 quilts will be on display, as well as 40 vendors with demonstrations and prizes.

New works at Roundabout

New works by Susan Parrish and Thomas Teague are on display through March 30 at Roundabout Art Collective, 305 Oberlin Road, Raleigh. Parrish works in ceramic recycled objects, and Teague works in paint. Visit RoundaboutArtCollective.com for more information.

Quilt show

Rusalka

N.C. Opera will present Antonín Dvorák’s “Rusalka” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, in Meymandi Concert Hall at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 E. South St., Raleigh. Tickets are $27 to $85 and may be purchased at NCOpera.org or 919-792-3850.

Short Fiction Award

The Wade Edwards Foundation & Learning Lab is accepting applications for its annual Short Fiction award. The scholarship is given to three N.C. high school juniors who submit the most outstanding piece of original short fiction. Application deadline is May 5.
