Midtown Beach Music Series at North Hills

North Hills presents the Midtown Beach Music Series every Thursday through Aug. 9.

The schedule includes the following performers:

Admission to the outdoor concerts is free and chairs are welcome. No outside alcohol.

‘Presence’ exhibition

“Presence,” an art exhibition sponsored by the Raleigh Arts Commission, will be on display June 7 to July 16 at Miriam Preston Block Art Gallery in the Avery C. Upchurch Government Complex, 222 W. Hargett St., and Block2, the commission’s video venue at the Urban Design Center, 133 Fayetteville St., Raleigh.

At the Block Art Gallery, “Presence” will feature photography by Lydia Anne McCarthy and mixed-media works by Mia Yoon. The Block2 Street Video Series will display “Systemic” by Kia Mercedes Carscallen.

Art After Hours at Sunflower

Sunflower Studio & Gallery will feature artist E. Tracy Williams from June 8 to July 12. An opening reception is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 8, for Art After Hours at the gallery, 214 E. Jones Ave., Wake Forest. Williams creates abstract collages and assemblages with fabrics, papers, metals, paints, twigs and other found objects.
