DAR names officers

Raleigh residents Emily Vanderweide and Dusty Fletcher have been elected officers for the 2012-13 program year of the Yates Mill Chapter - DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).

Vanderweide will serve as registrar and Fletcher is historian. The Yates Mill Chapter meets September through May at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 221 Union St., Cary. For information, email cgcnare@aol.com.

Business and Professional Women

Letita Mason, Director of Admissions at the N.C. School of Science and Math, will speak at the June 26 meeting of the Business and Professional Women. She will discuss women in the field of science and math. The BPW of Raleigh meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the Brier Creek Country Club. Jefferson-Jackson breakfast

Democratic Women of Wake County will host the 43rd annual Jefferson-Jackson Breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Raleigh Convention Center in downtown Raleigh. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

State Sen. Nina Turner of Ohio will speak. Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorship packages will be used to help fund Democratic candidates in the 2012 and 2013 elections.
