Summer Artist Speaker Series
The second night of triangle.com and Capital H. Creative’s three-part Summer Artist Speaker Series is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at The Hive at Busy Bee Café, 225 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh. Artist Bill Beatty of Stepping Stone Studio will talk about his work, inspiration and creative process. Beatty’s work will be available for purchase and displayed at The Hive until July 24. During the event, members of the audience will have a chance to win prizes that include a signed print from the artist and a $25 gift card to The Hive.

The Art of the Necklace
An opening reception and trunk show for “The Art of the Necklace” is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 6, at The Third Place coffeehouse, 1811 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. The Art of the Necklace features photographs by Carl Tyer of models wearing mixed media character necklaces made by Rock Kershaw. Roundabout featuring Jackson in July

Sunflower to feature Farmer in July
Sunflower Studio & Gallery will feature Billy Farmer for Art After Hours from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 13, at the gallery, 214 E. Jones Ave., Wake Forest. Farmer, a North Carolina native, began to work as an artist after retiring from a career as a band director and music teacher. He works mainly in watercolor but also acrylic, pastels and charcoals. Farmer’s work will be on exhibit until Aug. 9.
