Georges Le Chevallier will give a curator’s talk from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Block Gallery, 222 W. Hargett St., Raleigh. Hear his thoughts on the changing nature of photography and the artists chosen for the exhibit. Bring your lunch.
Le Chevallier received his MFA degree in painting from Hunter College in New York City. Le Chevallier has curated and organized many successful exhibitions and projects, including Visual Art Exchange’s 2011 Collector’s Print Portfolio.

The Sertoma Arts Center is accepting proposals for the 2013 gallery year. The center is seeking 2D and 3D works from artists 18 or older, residing and/or working in Wake County and surrounding areas. The gallery has introduced hundreds of artists to area residents and visitors since the inception of the Gallery Program. Monthly exhibitions will be scheduled. Applications are due by Sept. 30.
