Crabtree Rotary Club teams with Miss N.C.

Arlie Honeycutt, Miss North Carolina 2012, was inducted as an honorary member of the Crabtree Rotary Club and will assist with club service projects. Honeycutt made volunteerism her platform for the year. Crabtree Rotary meets at 12:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Crabtree Marriott Hotel. Wake Forest Woman’s Club meeting

The Wake Forest Woman’s Club meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Community House, 133 W. Owen Ave., Wake Forest. The meeting will include a social, followed by a program and business meeting.

Women who live in the Wake Forest area and want to learn more about the organization and its community activities are encouraged to attend.

FemCity chapters service project

FemCity Raleigh and FemCity Research Triangle Park will join for a service project in the community gardens of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. The project is set for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at 4505 Tryon Road, Raleigh. Attendees will plant, harvest, water and do general maintenance to help provide food for those in need, build community and promote health and nutrition. Registration is required. Kenneth E. Fernandez, director of the Elon University Poll, will speak at the Timely Topics luncheon of the League of Women Voters of Wake County at noon Friday, Sept. 21, at N.C.
