Social Media for Business 101

FemCity Raleigh will hold a workshop and fundraiser called Social Media for Business 101 from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the SAFEchild Advocacy Center at 2815 Kidd Road, Raleigh. Jo-Anne Chase, vice president of Bolt PR, will lead the hands-on workshop on the basics of successful social media marketing content for small businesses. Registration fee is $20 for Femfessionals members, $30 for nonmembers. FemCity Raleigh will donate a portion of the proceeds to SAFEchild.

Wake Forest Woman’s Club info session

The Wake Forest Woman’s Club is holding an informational session from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4, at the Community House, 133 W. Owen Avenue, Wake Forest. The session will offer an opportunity for civic-minded women to learn more about the club, its initiatives, and how the efforts of the members benefit the community.

BPW names Career Woman of Year

BPW Raleigh will recognize its Career Woman of the Year, Lynn Davis Minges, at a luncheon at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Hilton RDU. Minges is the assistant secretary of tourism, marketing and global branding for the N.C. Department of Commerce. She is the chairwoman of the National Council of State Tourism Directors and was recently elected secretary of U.S. Travel’s Executive Committee. Minges also serves on the Business Advisory Council of the John A. Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.

Fashion show for Dress for Success

The Woman’s Club of Raleigh will hold “All Dressed Up…with places to go,” a fashion show luncheon and auction featuring winter and holiday fashions from Saks Fifth Avenue on Friday, Nov. 2.
