Woman’s Club candidates forum

The Woman’s Club of Raleigh will hold a forum with candidates at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 3300 Woman’s Club Drive, Raleigh.

Candidate meet-and-greet

The Northern Wake Republican Club will hold a candidate meet-and-greet and pep rally from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Events at Newton Square, 230 Newton Road, Raleigh. Each candidate will have a few minutes to speak.

Cost for dinner is $18; people are welcome to attend but not eat for $6.

FemCity connection lunch

FemCity Raleigh will meet for its October connection lunch from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Brio Tuscan Grille at Crabtree Valley Mall, 4325 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. Sheila Ogle of Ogle Enterprises will discuss how women can find, use and be successful mentors. Cost is $29 for members and $39 for nonmembers. Diabetes support group meeting

BPW names Career Woman of Year

BPW Raleigh will recognize its Career Woman of the Year, Lynn Davis Minges, at a luncheon at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Hilton RDU. Minges is the assistant secretary of tourism, marketing and global branding for the N.C. Department of Commerce. She is the chairwoman of the National Council of State Tourism Directors and was recently elected secretary of U.S. Travel’s Executive Committee. Minges also serves on the Business Advisory Council of the John A. Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.

Fashion show for Dress for Success

The Woman’s Club of Raleigh will hold “All Dressed Up…with places to go,” a fashion show luncheon and auction featuring winter and holiday fashions from Saks Fifth Avenue on Friday, Nov. 2.
