Candidates to address Democrats

Rep. Darren Jackson and candidate Lori Millberg will address the North Raleigh Democrats at 6 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Zest Restaurant in the Celebration Shopping Center at Six Forks and Strickland Road. Cost is $18 for salad, entree, dessert and beverage. Beer and wine are available for an additional charge.

Wake Forest Woman’s Club meeting

Oak Haven walking event

The spring Oak Haven Walking event is scheduled for 7 a.m. Saturday, April 7, beginning at Wilder’s Grove. Participants are asked to park at Wilder’s Grove or walk. The walk is 2.3 miles. Wake Democratic Men’s Club

U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge and state Rep. Bill Faison will address the Wake Democratic Men’s Club at 7 p.m. Monday, April 9, at the Clarion hotel in downtown Raleigh. Republicans’ ‘Meet the Candidates’

Northern Wake County Republican Club will hold its “Meet the Candidates” night from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Events at Newton Square, 230 Newton Road, Raleigh. Each candidate will be given two to three minutes to address the club followed by a question and answer session. Dinner will be served from 6 to 7. Dinner is $18. Cost is $6 for anyone wishing to attend dinner and not eat.

Rheumatologist to speak on sarcoidosis

Diabetes support group meeting

A diabetes support group meeting is set for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Milner Memorial Church, 1950 New Bern Ave., Raleigh. FemCity Raleigh to host lunch

FemCity Raleigh, the local chapter of Femfessionals, a nationwide network of professional women, will hold its first Power Connection Lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Midtown Grille in North Hills, 4421-115 Six Fork Road, Raleigh. Organizational expert and author Barbara Hemphill will speak about Five Strategies for Accomplishing Work and Enjoying Your Life. This event will follow the same basic format as the monthly Connection lunches including a speaker, Femfessional 30-second pitches, and personal connections but will be shorter in length.
