CAM Raleigh exhibit

The Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh will host an exhibit featuring the works of Sarah Anne Johnson from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, through May 3 at 409 W. Martin St., Raleigh. The museum will offer guided tours of the exhibit from 2 to 3 p.m. each Sunday.

‘Wake Forest Has Talent!’

Wake Forest Arts is hosting “Wake Forest Has Talent!” Performers of all ages and genres are invited to enter. Participants do not have to live in Wake Forest. The arts group will accept video auditions through March 31. For details, including rules and deadlines, go to wakeforestarts.org.

‘The Velveteen Rabbit’

Raleigh Little Theatre will present “The Velveteen Rabbit” at 301 Pogue St., Raleigh. The show will be performed from March 6 to 22 at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For details, go to RaleighLittleTheatre.org.

N.C. Bach Festival

Art After Hours reception

Sunflower Studio & Gallery will host an Art After Hours Reception from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 13, at 214 E. Jones Ave., Wake Forest. The reception will feature artists Linda Long and Linda Jones.

Tipping Paint Gallery

For its March show, the Tipping Paint Gallery will present “Hot & Cold” featuring artwork with red-hot colors and cool blues. The show runs through March 28. For details, contact info@tippingpaintartists.com.

Call for artists

311 Gallery and Tipping Paint Gallery will host a juried art show in May. “Eggistentialism 2.0” will kick off the Tour D’Coop and benefit Urban Ministries. Artists may interpret the theme of “all things chicken” in any way, literally or figuratively, from representational to abstract, in any medium. Bob Rankin is the juror for this event. Garden and art show

Lasting Impressions will host its ninth annual Open Garden & Art Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at 4904 Hermitage Drive, Raleigh. Local artists and crafters will be at the event, and plants will be for sale. For details, go to LastingImpressionsLeaves.com.

N.C. State University Theatre

N.C. State University Theatre will present “The Burial at Thebes, a version of Sophocles’ Antigone” at 7:30 p.m. March 27-29, and April 8-12 and 15-19 at Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre, Frank Thompson Hall. Tickets cost $16-$18.

Benefit art exhibition

Second Chance Pet Adoptions will host a benefit art exhibition from Saturday, April 11, through Monday, April 13, at ArtSource Fine Art Gallery, 4351-107 The Circle at North Hills, Raleigh. An opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 11. Tickets cost $10.

Call for artists

The Cotton Company in historic downtown Wake Forest is seeking a variety of artists and musicians for Art After Hours. The event, which takes place the second Friday of each month, allows local artists and musicians to display their work, network and sell to the public.
