Rowing Sneak Peek
Triangle Rowing Club will hold its free fall “Sneak Peek” week Aug. 25-30 at Lake Wheeler Park, 6404 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh. Racquets for Research
The V Foundation for Cancer Research will hold its ninth annual Racquets for Research Friday, Sept. 12, and Saturday, Sept. 13, at North Hills Racquet Club, 4824 Yadkin Drive, Raleigh. Racquets for Research offers tennis fans and players the opportunity to play with and learn from world-class playing professionals while supporting The V Foundation. Magnificient Mile Race
The ninth annual Magnificent Mile Race will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at 300 Hillsborough St., Raleigh. The event will kick off with the Competitive Mile, followed by the Recreational Mile and a pair of kids’ races: a 100-meter dash for ages 6 and under, and a 400-meter dash for 12 and under. Furry 5k Run / 2k Walk
Second Chance Pet Adoptions will hold its third annual Furry 5k Run / 2k Walk on Saturday, Oct. 11, at WakeMed Soccer Park, 940 E. Chatham St., Cary. Visit SecondChanceNC.org for more information.
Karate Kenpo classes are offered from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays for youth, and 7 to 8:30 p.m. for adults, at Millbrook Exchange Park, 1905 Spring Forest Road, Raleigh. Monthly fee is $45. The instructor is Bill Parsons of the Triangle Kenpo Institute.
Pickleball open play
Play pickleball from 8 to 10 a.m. every Tuesday and Friday, and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays on the tennis courts at Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 N. White St., Wake Forest. Pickleball is played on a badminton court with a lowered net, a perforated plastic baseball and wood paddles. It is easy to learn but can develop into a competitive game for experienced players.

Triangle Rowing Club
Triangle Rowing Club will host summer camp for ages 11-18 from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Monday, Aug. 4 to Friday, Aug. 8, at Lake Wheeler Park in Raleigh. The session costs $180. For details or registration, email email@example.com or go to www.trianglerowing.org.
Each year from September through November, the Wake Forest Parks and Recreation Department partners with CenterPoint Sports to offer an Adult Flag Football League.
League games are played on Sunday afternoons from mid-September through early November.

Adult basketball leagues
Wake Forest Parks and Recreation offers 4-on-4 basketball leagues for adults both Over 35 and Under 35.
Registration costs $200 per team and is held in August. The leagues run September through November with Over 35 games on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Under 35 games on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Flaherty Park Community Center.
